About the site
Decode from Base64 using our online tool. We provide an online tool which can convert Base64 encoded data into text or files.
Base64 is an encoding scheme for representing computer data with only 64 characters on systems which do not accept data in binary format, such as email systems.
The Base64 conversion process is simple: The encoding process reads data 24 bits at a time, then splits each 24 bits into four 6-bit sections, which are converted according to an index table. If a full 24 bits cannot be filled because there is insufficient data to convert, the remaining bits are recognized as 0. At this point, if all 6 bits are 0, a padding character is added. Reversing this process will decode Base64.
In most cases, this encoding occurs within the system, invisible to end users. However, sometimes during the debugging process, programmers must visually analyze the transferred data.
